FOODITY Open Call 2 Midterm Pitch Contest: Meet the Finalists!

After months of dedication in our Pilot Development Programme, the winners of FOODITY’s Open Call 2 have reached a key milestone: the Midterm Pitch Contest. This event brought together these six pioneering teams, each developing data-driven solutions to transform the future of food and nutrition, which presented their progress, and three standout projects were chosen to move forward as the finalists: ONCONOURISH, SEBP, and REDUCE.

These finalists will now move on to the next stage of the Programme, which will conclude at our final event in Brussels on 22–23 October 2025. There, the winner of the 2nd FOODITY Star Award will be revealed and awarded a €7,500 prize to help accelerate their innovation.

ONCONOURISH

Smarter Nutrition for Better Outcomes

ONCONOURISH is reshaping how cancer patients manage their nutrition during treatment. By combining AI, scientific knowledge, and patient-centred design, the project delivers personalised dietary support that empowers patients, complements hospital care, and tackles the challenges of long-term adherence.

SEBP

Sustainable Employee Benefits Platform for Responsible Companies and Consumers

SEBP introduces a data-driven approach to employee benefits by linking companies, employees, and local producers. Its platform combines transparent sustainability metrics, digital management tools, and measurable impact data — enabling companies to promote responsible consumption while empowering employees to make eco-conscious choices.

REDUCE

AI-driven Solution to Reduce Canteen Leftovers Through User Engagement

REDUCE focuses on cutting canteen plate waste through AI-powered insights and active user engagement. The platform helps catering companies make better decisions, reduce leftovers, and promote more sustainable dining habits by turning data into actionable, real-world solutions.

— Developed by Behavix, Spritz Matter, and the TESAF Department at the University of Padova.

Celebrating all FOODITY Open Call #2 teams

While we celebrate our finalists, we also want to recognise the progress and achievements of the entire Open Call 2 cohort.

The teams behind 3 FAIR, MyNutri, and TRACE-IT have also demonstrated incredible dedication and creativity, developing impactful solutions that address key challenges in food transparency, sustainability, and health. Their contributions highlight the diverse potential of data-driven food innovation to create better systems for both people and the planet.

At FOODITY, we are proud to support all six teams — providing not only funding but also expert mentorship and resources to help them refine and scale their ideas.

What’s next? FOODITY 2nd Star Award

The journey continues as the finalists prepare for the 2nd FOODITY Star Award, to be held during our final event in Brussels in October 2025.

One of these three finalists will be awarded the €7,500 prize, in addition to the €187,500 already received through the programme, to keep driving their innovation forward.
