On 18 June 2024, we celebrated the second info webinar focused in our Open Call 2. We had an insightful discussion to understand how engaging citizens and end-users can help scale innovative solutions.
Our Open Calls Manager, Nika Levikov (F6S), started by introducing the call. Next, Maria Schrammel, who is working on our citizen engagement and empowerment activities (ZSI), led a quick warm-up exercise to assess our collective knowledge of citizen engagement.
We then heard from László Jaczenkó (Climate Smart Elephant), a key member of CSE-TKAS, one of the projects we selected in our Open Call 1. He shared his experience in our Pilot Development Programme and emphasised the importance of citizen engagement in scaling the data-driven solutions developed by FOODITY Open Call 2 beneficiaries and successfully bringing them to market.
To end, we held an open discussion to better understand the critical role of citizen engagement within FOODITY and participants had the opportunity to get their questions answered.
At FOODITY, we will fund six data-driven solutions to boost innovation in food and nutrition while putting the power of personal data use back into the hands of citizens.
The innovators who will join our programme (SMEs/startups, social innovators, researchers and training organisations) will receive up to €187K in equity-free funding. Also, technology access and technical support, tailored expert mentoring and group coaching, and training on technical, business, and legal matters to scale their solutions.
